National Leadership Centre

Cabinet Office Read in 1 minute

The National Leadership Centre was a Cabinet Office programme designed to foster a network of support and collaboration among senior public sector leaders. I led the design process for the digital services supporting this aim through the discovery, alpha, and private beta phases.

The challenge

The primary challenge was to understand the specific needs and challenges of senior public sector leaders and translate those into a central digital service that would effectively facilitate connection, collaboration, and experience-sharing across different government bodies.

My role

I led the end-to-end design process, which included:

  • Planning and executing user research with senior leaders
  • Synthesising and presenting research findings to senior Cabinet Office staff
  • Providing advice on next steps for the service
  • Ensuring the project met the GDS Service Standard at each stage
  • Delivering ongoing user research during the alpha and beta phases to iteratively improve the platform concept

Impact

The project successfully delivered a platform that allowed senior public sector leaders to connect, collaborate, and share experiences. My work ensured that the service was built on a strong foundation of user needs research and met government standards, culminating in the planning and delivery of a valuable digital service for public sector leadership development.
